How does truffle taste?

Finding an answer to the question "How do truffles taste?" is not that easy. Most of the time, it is credited with an earthy to nutty note that has sweetish parts.

White truffles are also known for their fine, sweet, slightly pungent aroma, reminiscent of hay or honey. Depending on the season, there is also a slight garlic-like touch.
